Terra Bluffs was awarded the Partner in Safety award from South Metro Fire Rescue on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
The Partner IN Safety program is meant to simplify the requirements set by the Fire Marshal’s Office and the State of Colorado so senior living communities can ensure compliance. The program also helps firefighters and medics best care for residents and team members during fire and medical emergencies. There are six requirements to become a partner in safety:
- Fire Drills conducted on every shift the correct number of times per year.
- No open fire inspection violations within your current inspection cycle.
- All Employees understand their role in a medical emergency and how/when to use 911.
- Educational class held with the community discussing Fire Safety and Evacuations, Emergency Preparedness, File of Life, DNR/MOST Forms and Mitigating Fall Risk.
- Educational class held with the staff discussing how to assist during fire evacuations.
- Staff training via videos on mitigating fall hazards, how to safely lift a person after a fall, and DNR/MOST Forms.
Members of the Terra Bluffs community, resident family members, team members of Terra Bluffs management company Health Dimensions Group, and key South Metro Fire Rescue personnel were on hand to present the award to the community. This achievement by Terra Bluffs showcases the community’s commitment to the health and safety of their residents, families, and team members.
